PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical connector plug having the mechanism, through which an optical fiber portion is made attachable and detachable, by fitting the engaging section of an optical connector plug and the corresponding portion of an optical communication module and connecting the plug and the module. SOLUTION: A ferrule supporting member 38 is inserted into a through-hole 48 of a holding section 42 when an optical connector plug 20 is connected to an optical communication module and a ferrule 34 and the member 38 are relatively positioned against the section 42. Thus, if an engaging section 44 of the plug 20 and the corresponding portion of the module are fit, the connecting condition of the plug 20 and the module is maintained. Moreover, the fitting between the section 44 of the plug and the corresponding portion of the module is made possible to be released. Thus, an optical fiber is easily mounted on and released from an optical commnication module.
