<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus with which where, when and in which size an earthquake possibly occur can be predicted. SOLUTION: Based on data obtained from a barometer 2, a weather chart information input part 3 and a low tide predicting data memory part 7, a computer 1 combines an estimated pressure difference value between a high atmospheric pressure having passed and a low atmospheric pressure following the high atmospheric pressure and low tide estimation data, thereby judging 'when?', 'where?' and 'what magnitude?' an earthquake occurs, and outputs an earthquake generation prediction information to a display 4 and a printer 6. In this case, the computer judges, based on that a maximum atmospheric pressure value of a specific region where a high atmospheric pressure has passed is not smaller than 1015×102 Pa., and the atmospheric pressure difference between a low atmospheric pressure which is estimated to pass the specific region afterwards and the high atmospheric pressure is not smaller than 10×102 Pa., that a generation timing of an earthquake is predicted to be close.</p> |
