METHOD OF CONTROLLING TAPE-RECORDING ACCORDING TO GENRE OF BROADCAST

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a recording according to a genre of broadcast is provided to prevent the waste of unnecessary resources to a broadcast program not to be needed a high resolution by recording with skipping for a certain amount without sequentially storing image frames. CONSTITUTION: When a reserved recording mode is selected, a user selects a receiving channel of a broadcast with a decided broadcast channel by controlling a selecting voltage fed from a microprocessor(200) to a tuner(100). A detecting unit of genre(1000) detects a broadcast code from a complex image signal output by receiving through the tuner(100) and searches the genre of a program recorded in the broadcast code. When the genre of the broadcast program for a reserved recording is decided, data about the skipping amount of recording frame according to the best recording amount for each genre is output by comparing with data divided the genre of broadcast program among data stored in a storing unit of skipping amount for each genre(1100) by the searched signal. Therefore, the microcomputer(200) controls the recording amount of a video deck(500) to fit the skipping amount of the recording frame output from the storing unit of skipping amount for each genre(1100).
