ELECTROCHEMICAL GAS SENSOR

PURPOSE: An electrochemical gas sensor is provided to sense concentration of two gas ingredients of gas mixture simply and rapidly. CONSTITUTION: A first reaction gas diffusion electrode is inert to a second reaction gas at a first rearrangement window. A second reaction gas diffusion electrode is inert to a second reaction gas at a second rearrangement window. The two gas diffusion electrodes are insulated electronically from each other, however, have a contacting part to connect an external closed circuit for controlling a cell current, and are electrically connected to an electrode capable of receiving reversible load. The electrode capable of receiving reversible load is Cu/CuO electrode, Zn/ZnO electrode or a hydrogen electrode. A gas mixture is provided to gas diffusion electrodes in series or in a row. The gas diffusion electrodes have porous structure. A casing including electrodes is especially a button type cell.
