<p>There is provided a cylindrical metal-air cell, wherein a membrane, a metal anode and electrolyte are located within the cylindrical metal-air electrode interior. The air electrode consists of a catalytically active layer, a hydrophobic air permeation layer, a conductive collector mesh and a leak free layer. The catalytically active layer is pressed to the hydrophobic layer and is not in contact with the collector. The outline of the air electrode enclosed at both ends is cylindrical. The metal-air cell employing the above configuration has larger reaction area, better leakproofness, larger inner volume and flat discharge platform, and has the advantage in high energy density to volume ratio.</p> |
