The vacuum pump has a working chamber (18) for connection to a vacuum chamber of a vacuum braking pressure amplifier and an outlet valve (30) leading to ambient atmosphere. A membrane (16) forming a boundary wall of the working chamber can be deflected in a working direction. An actuator (40) coupled to the membrane contains an armature (70) that can be moved in the working direction of the membrane by an electromagnetic coil (74).
