<p>In a process and assembly to dispose of personal sanitary products (13) consisting primarily of textile-based disposable nappies, sanitary towels and similar, the refuse is first shredded. The shredded products are then released into a suitable concentrated disinfectant as used in portable toilets and diluted with water. The shredded products and their organic load are at least partially dissolved, and the fluid is then released into the public sewer for conventional processing. The residual shredded sanitary products are then de-watered and are separately disposed. The sanitary products consist primarily of cellulose (2) with a textile lining (3) plus adhesive strips or Velcro RTMtabs (4). An ADDITIONAL CLAIM is also included for a suitable shredding and rinsing assembly.</p> |
