PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a high quality image stably using ink in an ink tank effectively through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: A subtank 50 for holding ink in a main tank 13 temporarily and supplying ink to a recording head 1 is provided in an ink supply path and the subtank 50 comprises a sub-ink bag 50b and a case 50h. The sub-ink bag 50b has an inlet 50f for receiving ink from an ink tank 134 and an outlet 50g for delivering ink to the recording head 1 and defines an enclosed space except them. The case 50h protects the sub-ink bag 50b in the enclosed space except the interconnecting part with the outside. The inlet 50f is provided with a first on/off valve 66 and the outlet 50g is provided with a second on/off valve 65. Furthermore, a pump 67 for regulating the pressure in the space between the sub-ink bag 50b and the case 50h communicates with the interconnecting part. |
