PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent separative vibration from occurring, and simultaneously to avoid deterioration in the stillness and the image quality suck as jitters of a device by improving the driving method of a FRR type roller. SOLUTION: In this paper feeding device, equipped with a feed roller 103 feeding a sheet of paper, and a reverse roller 104 contacting with the feed roller 103, being reversely driven against the paper feeding direction, and having a built-in torque limiter normally rotated in the paper feeding direction with frictional force of the feed roller 103, and then reversibly rotated according to the number of admission sheets of paper, and the reverse roller 104 normally rotates when the paper coming into each nip part of both the rollers is one piece alone, delivering one piece of the paper, and other hand, when plural sheets of the paper have come into the nip parts, it reverses whereby performing such a motion as restoring the paper sheets other than those of the uppermost part, when conveying speed in the paper to be fed out of the feed roller 103 is represented as VF as well as when return speed in the paper at the time of the torque limiter operating and the reverse roller 104 reversing is represented as VB, both formulas of|VF|>|VB|, and VF.VB<0 are satisfied.
