PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing onto a ticket sheet with a stabilized print length regardless of the diameter on the take-up side by transferring ink in a transfer ribbon while fusing to a ticket sheet based on a recording period calculated by a calculating means and a print content. SOLUTION: A recording period calculating circuit 21 sets the recording period in a thermal head control circuit 18. Under a state where recording period is set, a thermal head control circuit 18 controls driving of a thermal head 4 to transfer ink in a transfer ribbon 2 while fusing to a ticket sheet thus performing printing onto the ticket sheet. After printing, used transfer ribbon is taken up on the take-up side. More specifically, the thermal head is driven while modifying the recording period depending on the number of ticket sheets being issued and the print length is corrected. Fluctuation of print length due to fluctuation of torque attributed to the diameter of the transfer ribbon on the take-up side is thereby corrected and a constant print length can be sustained. According to the arrangement, printing can be performed with a stabilized print length regardless of the diameter of the transfer ribbon on the take-up side.
