PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain hydrogen by passing a reformed gas obtained by steam reforming of fuel for hydrogen production through a carbon monoxide reforming catalyst bed and selectively taking out hydrogen through a hydrogen separation pipe mounted in the bed to efficiently perform the reforming of carbon monoxide with compact equipment. SOLUTION: Plural pieces of hydrogen separation pipes 2 each composed a thin film of palladium, a palladium based alloy or the like are buried in the carbon monoxide reforming catalyst bed 1 of an iron.chromium base or the like, which is held between water jackets 3, 3 and formed into a flat lamellar shape. The reforming is performed by passing the reformed gas obtained by the steam reforming or the like of the fuel for hydrogen production and containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen through the carbon monoxide reforming catalyst bed 1, supplying cooling water to the water jacket 3 from a cooling water inlet 6 to circulate it and adjusting it to 320-450 deg.C. Hydrogen produced in this way is passed through the hydrogen separation pipe 2 to be selectively separated and collected and taken out from a pure hydrogen outlet 5 and the waste gas containing reformed carbon dioxide flows out from the catalyst bed 1 to the outside of the system. |
