PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an allergy-preventive food that contains an extract of persimmon leaves, can reduce IgE value, has antiallergic action and skin-chapping prevention and is suitably useful for preventing pollinosis or atopic dermatitis. SOLUTION: For example, 1 pt.wt. of persimmon leaves are mixed with 2-1,000 pts.wt. of an aqueous solvent, for example, a mixture of water and ethanol and extracted at a temperature from about 0 deg.C to its boiling point for 10 seconds to 24 hours. The resultant persimmon leaf extract is admixed to food, preferably in an amount of 0.01-70 wt.% (on the dry basis). In a preferred embodiment, an itching-prevention food, cosmetic composition, itching- preventive and a treatment agent are prepared by using the persimmon leave extract.
