PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for assisting bathing in which it is possible to place oneself on a step plate safely and stride over the wall of a bathtub into the bathtub and out of the bathtub easily. SOLUTION: An assisting device for taking a bath is formed on a bathtub wall mounting part 31, a bathtub-side leg part 32, a wash place-side leg part 33, a bathtub-side step plate 34 mounted to the bathtub-side leg part 32, and a step plate leg part 35 mounted to the bathtub-side step plate 34. The bathtub- side leg part 32 is approximately equal to the length from the upper end of the bathtub wall 12 to a bathtub bottom part 11. The wash plate-side leg part 33 is approximately equal to the length from the upper end of the bathtub wall 12 to a wash place 2. The step plate leg part 35 is approximately equal to the length from a bathtub step plate to the bathtub bottom part 11.
