PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make strong a soft wood, the utility value of which is low, with a high productivity through its softening, compressing and solidifying. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a softening device 12, which softens a soft wood 1 by heating up to an elevated temperature, pairs of long and narrow, upper and lower molds 2, between which the softened soft wood is pinched, a plurality of roll compressors, which are arranged in tandem so as to compress the soft wood between the molds by vertically compressing the molds during the horizontal and longitudinal feeding of the molds and a continuous fixing device 16, which successively and widthwise moves the upper and the lower molds held under the state being compressed. The continuous fixing device 16 consists of an upper and a lower chain conveying devices 17, which move horizontally and widthwise, each supporting frame 18 for backing-up the roller chains 17b of each chain conveying device and each horizontally holding plate 19 mounted to each roller chain. The upper and lower molds 2 under a compressed state are held between the horizontally holding plates 19 opposing vertically to each other.
