PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening the lighting time of a laser light source. SOLUTION: An exposing means 20 for exposing an image carrier 11 is disposed between a charging means 28 for uniformly charging the surface of the image carrier 11 and developing means 12, 13 for developing a latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier 11. An exposure controlling means controls such that the image carrier 11 is exposed by a laser light source in the latent image forming region and the image carrier 11 is exposed by the exposing means 29 in the region other than the latent image forming region based on a signal from a signal generating means for producing a signal representing the latent image forming region on the surface of the image carrier 11. |
