PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience in view of the management and handling of an empty can retrieval machine by improving the configuration of a can retrieving container and a container for retrieving foreign matter such as empty bottles and plastic containers. SOLUTION: In an empty can retrieval machine in which empty beverage containers inserted through an empty can insertion slot are sorted into a group of cans and a group of foreign matter, and then, the empty cans are subjected to bulk reduction by means of a press machine before they are retrieved into a can retrieving container, a foreign matter such as an empty bottle is retrieved into a foreign matter retrieving container through a reject passage, the foreign matter retrieving container 9 is a small-sized container having a bottom which is shallower than that of the can retrieving container 8, and is removably stored in one corner of the can retrieving container 8. Further, an opening door panel 8a is provided at one side surface of the can retrieving container in order to facilitate the delivery of empty cans retrieved in the machine.
