PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce load on a water treatment system for removing phosphorous by subjecting a sludge mixture or its concentrate to oxidation treatment with a chlorine-oxidizing agent and removing phosphorous from the liquid separated from the sludge mixture. SOLUTION: This treatment process comprises: subjecting a sludge-containing liquid mixture 1 to oxidation treatment in the sludge treatment equipment 2 using a chlorine-based oxidizing agent; thereafter, introducing the treatment sludge-containing liquid mixture into a gravity concentration vessel 3a to obtain a separated liquid 61 and a sludge concentrate 72; introducing the sludge concentrate 72 into a dehydrator 4 to obtain another separated liquid 62 and a dehydrated cake 8; introducing the dehydrated cake 8 into an incineration furnace 5 to obtain an exhaust gas 9 and incineration ash 10; and sewage/wastewater treatment equipment or exclusive treatment equipment for such separated liquid where the separated liquids 61 and 62 are returned and treated, is the one using a biological treatment process having a phosphorus removal treatment mechanism, a physiochemical treatment process represented by a flocculant addition treatment process or a combination of these processes, whose purposes are phosphorus removal treatment.
