PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit device for a power-assisted bicycle which can be simply and easily fitted to an existing bicycle to be driven by a human- generated torque, and a power-assisted bicycle to be remodeled by mounting the drive unit on the existing bicycle. SOLUTION: A drive unit device 10 for a power-assisted bicycle to be fitted to a rear frame of a bicycle and an axle of a rear wheel in an attachable/ detachable manner comprises a drive unit 36 provided with an electric motor 28, a reduction gear 30 having a clutch, and a drive gear 34, a control unit 40 in which a control circuit to control the drive force of the electric motor 28 according to the output of a torque sensor is built in a case, and the case is fixed to the drive unit 36, and a fitting and fixing jig unit 48 which is fixed to the drive unit 36, inserted in an axle 42, and provided with a fitting and fixing tool 46 to be fixed to a fitting hole 44 and a rear frame. The drive unit device 10 is of integrated structure, and can be easily mounted on the existing bicycle, and can be provided at low cost. |
