PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously extract printed books only by the required number of copies while maintaining the flow of printed books particularly on a conveyor by making an extraction line movable almost in the conveying direction of a conveying line at speed not lower than the conveying speed. SOLUTION: In a first extraction conveyor 7, a nip conveyor 8 above it and a second extraction conveyor 9, each belt is circulated in the directions of arrow marks by a driving roller. This single articles 2 fed from an extractor 3 are guided from a conveying line by a guide 4 and fed to the first extraction conveyor 7 and nip conveyor 9. By being held between a pair of conveyors and successively fed, the thin single articles 2 can be fed without a hitch even in an extraction line 3 inclining upward. When extracted, the thin single articles 2 are fed obliquely upward by the first extraction conveyor 7 and nip conveyor 8 of a conveying line and to the second extraction conveyor 9. When extraction is completed, the extraction line 3 moves toward the conveying line at speed not lower than the conveying speed.
