PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device wherein the adjustment of a fitting location can be easily and surely performed in order to display a sure braking force extending to a long period of time in a wheelchair. SOLUTION: In this braking device 1 for a wheelchair, an attaching main body 10 is fitted by clamping a built-in insertion utensil 16 by a pressing member, and pinching a frame 3a together with the insertion untensil 16, and the attaching main body 10 has a linear track 15 being parallel on the cross section, in which the insertion utensil 16 is fitted, and the insertion utensil 16 has a pinching track 18 tilting to the linear track 15 on the cross section, in which the frame 3a is fitted, respectively, and in addition, an adjusting means 19a which displaces the fitting location of the insertion utensil 16 in the linear track 15, is provided on the attaching main body 10, and a contact section which comes into contact with one part 24 of the wheelchair under a fitted state, is formed on the pressing member, and the attaching main body 10 is displaced by displacing the fitting location of the insertion utensil 16 in the linear track 15 under a state wherein the contact section is in contact with the one part 24 of the wheelchair, and the positional relationship of the braking mechanism to the wheel 7 is made adjustable.
