PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve production yield of material by simplifying the shape in an open condition and to eliminate trouble in assembling and actually using as to a cushioning material made by assembling corrugated cardboard material. SOLUTION: This cushioning material is rectangular shaped when it is opened, and is provided with a notch 1 and an insertion 4 at both end edges. From the notch 1 side, three folding lines 5, 6, 7 parallel to each other section three inside walls 8, 9, and 10. Then thickness forming parts 13, 16 formed by a set of neighboring folding lines 11, 12, 14, 15 section three outside walls 17, 18 and 19. From the folding line 7 on the inside wall 10 side, a notch 20 is provided for forming an opening where the insertion 4 enters when folded from the inside wall 8 one after another. The center inside wall 9 and the outside wall 18 are formed narrow on one side with notches 21, 22, adjoin the inside wall 9 and are jointly provided with an inside touching panel 25 shorter than the inside wall, adjoins the outside wall 18 and are jointly provided with an inside touching panel 27 shorter than the outside wall 18. The free ends of the inside touching panel 25 and the inside touching panel 27 are provided with alternative protrusions 28, 29 for fitting in folding.
