PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rainwater from entering a housing when water pressure on the front face of a transparent plate increases. SOLUTION: A waterproof structure for a housing accommodating an image pickup device 2, in which via a packing 3 from the inside of the housing 1 a transparent plate 4 is mounted in the opening 1b of the housing 1 accommodating the image pickup device 2, comprises a sealing part 3a obtaining a sealing function by the elastic compression of the packing 3 between the internal face of the housing 1 and the transparent plate 4, and a projecting part 3c so formed as to be integrated with the sealing part 3a and so provided as to contact the internal face of the periphery of the opening 1b and the front face of the transparent plate 4 at the same time. In this case, even if water pressure on the front face of the transparent plate 4 rises, the projecting part 3c forms a seal and decreases the water pressure, thus surely preventing rainwater and so on from entering the housing 1 from the sealing part 3a.
