A novel latch assembly with a keeper mechanism for securing a first member (100), such as, for example, a closure panel to a second member (200), such as a second panel, which can be a corresponding frame member to which a keeper is mounted, there being a first latching part (10) and a second latching part (13), the second latching part including a keeper member with a fixed part (40) for mounting to the second member (200) and a movable member (41) carried within said fixed part and having a connecting element (54) for connecting with said first latching part (10) associated with the first member (100), the movable member (41) of the keeper being positionable over a range of locations for connection with the first latching part (10).
