PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition developing high strengths and excellent electrical insulation properties and having thixotropy by selecting a composition containing an organopolysiloxane having a specified degree of polymerization, a normally liquid organohydrogenpolysiloxane, aluminum hydroxide, an addition reaction catalyst, a thixotropant, and an adhesion aid in a specified ratio and having specified properties. SOLUTION: This composition is one consisting mainly of 100 pts.wt. organopolysiloxane having an average composition represented by formula I and a degree of polymerization of 1,200 or below, 0.1-50 pts.wt. normally liquid organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two Si-bonded hydrogen atoms and having an average composition represented by formula II, 40-400 pts.wt. aluminum hydroxide, a catalytically effective amount of an addition reaction catalyst, 0.1-50 pts.wt thixotropant, and 0-30 pts.wt. adhesion aid and having a thixotropy of 1 in. (in terms of a sag after 1 min in the Bowing flow jig test).
