<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a collecting work and shorten the period of the work by providing a coiling drum having a diameter larger by a specified times than that of a submarine cable to be coiled, and by providing a hydraulic motor whose rotational speed for rotating the coiling drum is adjustable. SOLUTION: A collecting vessel 1 is provided with the coiling drum 2 for coiling and collecting a submarine cable 3 and a guiding part 4 for guiding the cable 3 onto the drum 2. The diameter of the drum 2 is made to be 20-40 times larger (four meters or larger) than that of the cable 3 to be coiled. Also, a hydraulic motor whose rotational speed is adjustable is provided for driving the rotation of the drum 2. A wire is fixed to the cut end of the cable 3 to be collected and lifted up to the surface of the sea by the rotation of the drum 2. Then, while being guided by the guiding part 4, the lifted cable 3 is coiled by the drum 2. Thereafter, the collecting work is carried out automatically.</p> |
