PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions for surface protec tive films and surface protective films which can eliminate a complicated step such as release agent coating treatment without reducing adhesion and also utilize advantages of the co-extrusion method. SOLUTION: A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer composed of 100 pts.wt. A-B-A block copolymer (A is a styrene polymer block; and B is a butadiene polymer block or an isoprene polymer block or an olefin polymer block to be obtained by hydrogenating these polymer blocks) having a degree of hardness of 20-55, 3-100 pts.wt. tackifying resin, and 0.03-5 pts.wt. fatty acid amide is laminated on a substrate layer of a polyolefin resin to obtain a surface protective film. Further, the same effect can be obtained by incorporating the fatty acid amide not only into the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer but also into the substrate layer or only into the substrate layer.
