PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily obtain an optical fiber connecting structure for obtaining a physical contact by disposing an elastic material having translucency at on end of an optical fiber mounted in the through-hole of a ferrule in the state of being projected from one end face of this ferrule. SOLUTION: The one end part 11b of the ferrule 11 having a cylindrical shape is subjected to an end face working in order to facilitate the insertion thereof into a sleeve and the optical fiber 13 disposed with the translucent elastic material (highly elastic material) is mounted in this through-hole 11c. The elastic material 12 is at least partly projected from the one end face 11a of the ferrule 11. According to such structure, the elastic material 12 disposed at the end face of the optical fiber 13 is projected from the one end face 11a of the ferrule and, therefore, the positioning of the end faces of the optical fiber 13 and the ferrule 11 may be embodied without executing laborious polishing and the excellent optical fiber connecting structure having less light loss can be easily obtained. |
