PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to optionally prepare a circuit diagram without being restricted by the preparing position, display direction, etc., of the circuit diagram. SOLUTION: At the time of preparing a circuit diagram, symbol information for specifying a connected symbol of a ladder diagram symbol and input side and output side terminals is generated and an arrow corresponding to a signal flow direction in a circuit block is displayed on a connection or the like in the circuit diagram. At the time of compiling, a ladder diagram symbol whose input side is not connected to another ladder diagram symbol is judged as a ladder diagram symbol expressing the start position of the circuit block (step S21) and a ladder diagram symbol whose output side is not connected to another ladder diagram symbol is judged as a ladder diagram symbol expressing the end position of the block (step S22). Since ladder diagram symbols expressing the start and end positions of the circuit block can be specified independently of the display position of the block, the circuit diagram can be prepared on an optional position, and since a signal flow direction is displayed, a circuit diagram allowing a signal to flow in an optional direction can be prepared without requiring the preparation of a circuit diagram allowing a signal to flow in a prescribed direction.
