PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for display device for suppressing the deterioration of display quality such as ghost or blurring of an outline, and for adjusting transmittance in a wide range while utilizing excellent characteristics of a reflection preventing film including an absorbing film with a low reflectivity in a wide range of a visible light area. SOLUTION: This filter for display device is provided with a light absorbing filter layer 2 on a transparent substrate 1 and a reflection preventing film 5 constituted of two or more layers on the light absorbing filter layer, and the reflection preventing film constituted of two or more layers is provided with at least one absorbing layer 3. Then, the filter for a display device is adhered to a display device.
