PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply generate a painted out figure by generating plural coordinates, which form the apexes of a polygon that indicates the painting out range in accordance with input signals, and superimposing a mask figure, that forms the entire display range, over the polygon. SOLUTION: A CPU 2 reads the mask data, i.e., coordinate data from a mask range data generating means 4 and supplies the data to a mask means 6. Moreover, the CPU 2 receives vehicle speed pulses from a vehicle speed sensor 1, computes the vehicle speed based on the cycle of the pulses and supplies the computational result, i.e., a vehicle speed signal to a coordinate generating table 3. Then, the CPU 2 supplies the coordinates of the apexes of the polygon, that indicates a painted out range corresponding to the speed supplied by the table 3, to a painting out means 5. A synthesis means 7 conducts a painting out based on the coordinates that indicate the painting out range supplied from the means 5, superimposes the mask data supplied from the means 6 on the painting out figure and displays the portion, that indicates the vehicle speed, on a display section 8 in a fan shape. |
