PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent degradation in print quality due to a print-density change, by making a dot diameter obtained by ink discharging from effective ink chambers disposed at ends almost equal to a dot diameter obtained by ink discharging from other effective ink chambers. SOLUTION: Two sheets of piezoelectric members 21 and 22 are superimposed and stuck together, a large number of grooves are formed in it at fixed intervals and parallel with each other as in the form of comb teeth, and the grooves are closed with a top plate 23 and an orifice plate 24, thereby forming ink chambers. In the ink chambers, three ink chambers at each end are used as dummy ink chambers 25 (251-256), and each is provided with five dummy discharging openings 28 so as not to discharge ink. The other ink chambers are used as effective ink chambers 26 (261-26n) for discharging the ink and each is provided with an ink-discharging opening 27. In the effective ink chambers, when the ink chambers disposed at the ends are driven, the dummy ink chambers 25 are also driven at the same time.
