PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selective information provision system which has retrieval conditions improved gradually without increasing the trouble of a user by specifying how much the user is adaptive for a retrieval result. SOLUTION: This system is equipped with an information data base 71 wherein newly-arrived information is registered and an individual information data base 72 wherein a retrieval condition and notification timing of the notification of a retrieval result can be inputted and registered at any time. When whether the retrieval result obtained under the retrieval condition is a result that the user intends is instructed adaptivity from an adaptivity input part 53, a retrieval condition improvement part 64 improves the retrieval condition according to the specified adaptivity and registers the improved retrieval condition in the individual information data base 72.
