PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor of high sensitivity and high image quality with little changes in potential for repeated use by incorporating a specified disazo pigment and hydroxygallium phthalocyanine into a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: The photosensitive layer contains a disazo pigment expressed by the formula and hydroxygallium phthalocyanine. In the formula, A1 and A2 may be mutually the same or different and represent coupler residues having phenolic hydroxyl groups. Hydroxygallium phthalocyanine has various forms of crystal state, and hydroxygallium phthalocyanine in any crystalline form can be used. Especially, crystalline hydroxygallium phthalocyanine showing intense peaks at 7.4 deg.±0.2 deg. and 28.2 deg.±0.2 deg. Bragg angle (2θ) by X-ray diffraction analysis with CuKαcharacteristic rays is preferable because of its high sensitivity. Thereby, the obtd. electrophotographic photoreceptor has high sensitivity, high picture quality and little changes in potential for repeated use.
