PURPOSE: A mask stretching device for manufacturing flat braun tube and method thereof is provided to secure uniformity of stretching and to improve quality of products and yields by controlling friction resistance uniformly to act to gripper and doing feedback error factor to initial analysis result. CONSTITUTION: A friction resistance to act to each gripper(51) is measured with stretching transparent rubber plate(61) after loading transparent rubber plate(61) on system designed by initial analysis and clamping with gripper(51). Above gripper(51) is settled to have equal friction resistance each other by controlling friction resistance to act to each gripper(51) according to measuring result of above the first process. Mask(50) is loaded on system and stretched after unloading transparent rubber plate(51). Measuring result is input as material of analysis after measuring friction resistance to act to each gripper(51) stretching above mask(50), and then it is verified whether mask(50) is stretched uniformly.
