A portable stove comprises a stand 1 adapted to receive a container 2 of liquefied gaseous fuel, an internally threaded sleeve 5 supported on the hinged lid 4 of the stand 1 and having a flexible seal-ring 6 engaging the top of the fuel container 2, and a burner 17 screwable into the sleeve 5 and having a tubular cutting member 18 for cutting an area of the fuel container within the seal ring 6. The hinged lid 4 is held on the top of the stand by toggle levers pivoted to the stand and having pivoted clasps engaging hooks on the lid. The cutting member 18 has external splines press-fitted into a complementary portion of the burner. The lower end of the cutting member is bevelled and acts as a rotating knife. A further seal ring 21 is supported around the lower end of the burner. The ends of a spring wire disposed in a circumferential groove 24 in the sleeve 5 are engaged in radial holes in the sleeve and prevent complete withdrawal of the burner by engaging the sealing ring 21. The head 30 of the burner has air inlets 31 and is carried by an injector nozzle 29 screwed into the body of the burner. A sheet metal support 27 for a cooking vessel is screwed on to the burner 17. A cover 12 formed as a cooking container has a pair of pivoted opposite handles 13 with inbent ends 15 for engagement in slots 16 near the base of the stand 1. The burner head, vessel support and injector nozzle may be replaced by a pressure reducer valve to form a lamp.</p> |
