PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for fabricating a back surface play of a plasma display panel is provided to realize the automation of process and the mass production in fabricating a back surface plate of a plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for fabricating a back surface paly of a plasma display panel forms a barrier rib by transporting a material to be etched to a barrier rib processing block. The material to be etched is transported by a power transporting part transferring power to two or more than two driving axes, and the proceeding path of the material to be etched is controlled by a guide rail. The apparatus comprises: a transporting apparatus part comprising a carrying-in block, at least more than one unit transporting block and a carrying-out block; and a control part controlling the operation of the transporting apparatus block.
