PURPOSE: A method for estimating a motion vector of an encoder using an H.263 protocol is disclose to realize a natural video conference by reducing an image encoding time. CONSTITUTION: In a method for estimating a motion vector of an encoder using an H.263 protocol, a sum of absolute differences of eight pixels surrounding a preestimated vector is first retrieved. When the sum of absolute differences is lower than a sum of absolute differences of the preestimated vector, the sum of absolute differences of the eight pixels is set as an actual motion vector. When the sum of absolute differences of the eight pixels is higher than a sum of absolute differences of the preestimated vector, a 3-step search algorithm is applied. |
