PURPOSE: A networked printing system is provided to connect to a network, and transfer to another printer when the printing error is occurred. CONSTITUTION: A network printing system comprises the personal computers(10), the printers(40), the network(40), and a network server(30). The network server(30) controls the data transmission of personal computer to personal computer, personal computer to printer or printer to printer. The printer(40) has an input panel(47) for setting a printing environment with a redirection key selecting a transmission function of the waiting print work from the printer itself to other printer at an occurrence of a print error. The method comprises steps of setting conditions necessary for performing the redirection function(100), detecting a printer error(110), determining if a redirection condition is set(120), determining if the error can be solved by the redirection function(130), searching for a waiting work not processed in a printer memory(140), searching for printing status information supplied by the corresponding printer(150), determining if the waiting work can be transmitted to other printer(160), and transmitting the waiting work to the other printer(170) |
