PURPOSE: A method for producing an elbow is provided to improve productivity, to realize an excellent appearance and to remove a factor of defects by correcting an extension of a steel material for an elbow into a straight pipe of which roundness is retained. CONSTITUTION: An elbow material has extensions(c) of a curved pipe shape at its both ends. The extensions as joints are curvedly formed in a certain radius of curvature. In a correction process, the curved pipe type extensions are straightened to be formed as joints(11) having roundness. The section of the straight pipe type joint is polished, and a joint groove(2b) is formed in the joint. Therefore, an elbow(10) having a joint groove is obtained.
