PURPOSE: A method for controlling operation of indoor fan for air conditioner is provided to allow the indoor unit to normally operate when the operation mode for air conditioner changes from "off" to "on" mode. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step(S1) of checking whether the indoor fan is in operation; a step(S2) of designating initial state if the indoor fan is not in operation; a step(S3) of sensing the indoor pipe temperature and indoor temperature; a step(S4) of checking whether a predetermined time period has lapsed after sensing the indoor pipe temperature and indoor temperature; a step(S5,S6) of accumulating the indoor pipe temperature and indoor temperature, if predetermined time period has lapsed; a step(S7) of calculating average of the accumulated indoor pipe temperature and indoor temperature; a step(S8) of judging whether the average indoor pipe temperature(Xn) is higher than a threshold temperature(A deg.C); a step(S9) of judging whether the average indoor temperature(Yn) is higher than the maximum set value(B deg.C), if the average pipe temperature is lower than the threshold value; and a step(S10) of setting a control bit required for forced operation of the indoor fan, if the average indoor temperature is higher than the maximum set value.
