PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform the drying for a short time by applying a vacuum to the inside of a hermetic compressor, and comprising a switch for selectively switching the connection of each winding phase of a stator winding of a motor accomodated inside of the compressor and an external power source. SOLUTION: A current is carried to both winding phases U-V from an external power source 13 by operating a switch 14, so that both winding phases U, V are energized to heat both winding phases U, V and their periphery, and a vacuum pump 15 is operated to apply a vacuum from an inlet tube 11a and a discharge tube 11b. Then the switch 14 is further operated to carry the current to both winding phases V-W from the external power source 13, so that both winding phases V, W are energized to heat both winding phases V, W and their periphery. Then the switch 14 is further operated to carry the current to both winding phases W-U from the external power source 13, so that both winding phases W, U are energized to heat both winding phases W-U and their periphery.
