PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the management by a maintenance personnel of an electronic exchange and to allow the maintenance personnel to quickly cope with a fault by designating a known, redundant and light fault message frequently caused with a message identifier and suppressing a fault message output of a line so as to avoid overlooking of an important fault message. SOLUTION: A maintenance personnel of an electronic exchange uses a command input device 103 to give a message output suppression command that designates a command parameter for message suppression to a storage position number of a fault message identifier of a line and a device where a known fault frequently takes place so as to set storage position to be suppressed with respect to the message identifier. A central processing unit 114 does not output a suppressed fault message according to the command and updates a value of a generating number of times field for check data. In the case of investigating a fault state, the storage number of the message identifier is designated and an investigation command is given thereto to allow the central processing unit 114 outputs the fault state.
