PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver adopting a V chip system, which allows a user to know the rating of a selected program. SOLUTION: This television receiver adopting a V chip system performs tuning to a designated channel, also acquires rating information (S12) when a program selection operation is performed (S11) and shows the acquired rating information together with program video obtained by tuning on an indicator (S13).
