PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate handling by selectively connecting a video adaptor having the same interface as that of a read section to a connection section of the read section that is attached to/detached from a facsimile main body so as to relieve a development load of the facsimile main body thereby preventing increase in space and cost due to presence of a plurality of connection sections. SOLUTION: A female connector 22 of a read control IC: 21 of a read section that is attached to/detached from a facsimile main body can be connected to a male connector 23 of an image sensor 25 of the facsimile main body. The read control IC 21 generates a timing signal for the image sensor 25, converts an input analog image signal into a digital signal, applies image processing and binary processing to the digital signal. A connector 24 of a video adaptor having a digital camera 27 connecting to a signal conversion adaptor 26 bas the same interface as that of the connector 23 for selective connection. Thus, the signal conversion adaptor in common use with the read section is realized without increasing the cost.
