An antiseptic composition for disinfecting the skin based on a mixture of ethyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol gelled with a carbomer. Antiseptic composition for disinfecting the skin without using soap or water and which is evaporable, comprises 50-80 vol. % ethyl alcohol and 10-15 vol. % isopropyl alcohol together with a carbomer having gel-forming capability.
