PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photograph a high definition still picture and a high definition panoramic image in addition to animation and a still picture. SOLUTION: A mode switch 23 selects a still picture mode, an animation mode, a high definition still picture mode and a high definition panoramic image. Animation and a still picture are photographed because a subject is directly made incident on a camera block 22 when the block 22 consisting of a lens block and a CCD image pickup element is turned outward from the body 21. Because the subject is made incident on the block 22 through a mirror block 2 when the block 22 is stored in the body 21, plural partial images used for a high definition still picture and a high definition panoramic image are photographed. The incidence angle of optical axes of the normal mode and the high definition modes becomes 45 degrees because the block 22 is turned by 45 degrees.
