<p>A system has first and second terminal station devices and first and second optical fiber transmission lines installed between the terminal station devices. The first terminal station device includes a first unit which sends out a first light signal through the first optical fiber transmission line. The second terminal station device includes a second unit which receives the first light signal transmitted through the first optical fiber transmission line, a third unit which detects a parameter concerning the waveform of the received first light signal, and a fourth unit which sends out a second light signal representing the detected parameter through a second optical fiber transmission line. The first terminal station device includes a fifth unit which receives the second light signal transmitted through the second optical fiber transmission line, a sixth unit which compares the parameters before and after the transmission of the first light signal with each other with reference to the received second light signal, and a seventh unit which controls the first light signal in accordance with the comparison results so as to optimize the parameter after the transmission of the first light signal.</p> |
