The invention relates to a method for producing a joint, especially between exciter poles (11) and a pole casing (10) of an electrodynamic machine, and to a machine produced according to this method. A positive and nonpositive connection is obtained using a rivet (13), preferably configured as a blind rivet. This rivet is passed through the perforated pole casing (10) and a perforated exciter pole (11) and the shaft (15) of the rivet is then widened until the riveting bolt (14) breaks off, hereby establishing the connection. According to the invention, at least one joint is produced per exciter pole (11).
