A control chain provided on the valve drive of an engine has a guide (10) located at one end by a bearing component. On a bearing surface (22) facing the bearing component on a bearing end section (20) of the control chain guide (10) projections (23,24) are provided, which extend by a predetermined amount to the bearing component. Along the projections ring-shaped cavities (24) are formed in order to accommodate deformation of the projections.
