PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically execute a printer selection processing, which has been executed depending on the memory of a user himself, and to select a printer that is more suitable to the given condition by obtaining information of the features of the respective printers at the time of selecting the printer and executing retrieval based on the condition as a reference of printer selection. SOLUTION: The device is a printer retrieval device under a computer environment where plural printers are connected through a data transfer means. The device is provided with a printer information acquisition means 6 acquiring printer information containing features of the respective printers, a printer information retrieval means 5 analyzing printer information acquired by the printer information acquisition means 6 and retrieving the candidate of the printer fitted to a printer selection condition, and a printer selection means 3 designating the specified printer of the printers retrieved by the printer information retrieval means 5 as an output designation.
